Tree Hunt 2009

Comment 1 Standard

Boy, December has gone fast!  A couple weeks ago we bundled up and headed out to get our tree.  After searching and searching we finally found THE tree.  Zoe tried her hand at it first.

Then dad came in to help.  It’s funny I didn’t get a final picture of the tree but oh well.  Maybe next year.  After the farm it was off to get hot chocolate and coffees!  A fun day out in the cool, crisp, beautiful winter day.

Kids don't smell coffee

I recently bought a new kind of holiday coffee and as I was opening it (and inhaling the freshness) Zoe wanted to know what it was.  I told her and asked her if she wanted to smell it.  With a disgusted look she said, “No! Kids don’t smell coffee!”  They don’t?  “No, they just drink their Mama’s coffee when their not looking.”

Hmmm…gotta keep and eye on that one.

Zeke has completed one of the many tasks bestowed on toddlers around the world.  And yes, he is walking…been walking for a while now (as in a couple months I guess it is.  Shame on Mama for not posting it sooner)

Zoe and Ezekiel were playing dress-up (at least Zoe was playing…Zeke was just allowing her to do whatever to him).  When they came out I was introduced to “Day” (notice he even has a D on his hat).  I was then informed by Zoe that when you play house you change your name but when you are done playing your name goes back normal.

Pure Joy

One of Zeke’s favorite things was his swing.  We called it his old man chair.  He was so content to sit there, hand on his belly and quietly watch the world around him.  It was a sad day when we finally had to retire the swing.  It had started groaning under the presser of a growing boy and couldn’t give him much of a ‘swing’.

The other day I hear a joyous scream coming from his room.  This was no squeal.  I remember being shocked at how loud the scream was.  When I com around the corner Zoe is laughing and Zeke is in his swing screaming with all his might and kicking his legs.  Zoe had allowed him another run in his favorite place.
