Sorry It’s been a while!!

Can you say busy!!  We have been really busy.  Since our last post we had a little paintball party, we been shopping for a Travel trailer,  had a day in which we thought that the baby was coming (really early i might add) and one of our church’s first home get togethers. An addition to all the other little things that take tons of time from you like work!!

Well our little paintball party was great, we only had a few friends over to play.  It was great!  For me it was one of the best parties that we have had.  I got a chance to TALK to people, it was great!  We got a if new people to try the sport and they had a blast. All  in all I would say everyone have a great time.

Next on the list was we have decided to buy a travel trailer.  Over the last couple of years we have been looking at them on and off again.  I would say within the last month or so we have decided that we would make a dive and buy one.  And since we didn’t know anything about them we have been doing a lot of research, our friend Wylin would be so proud:-)

Well after searching and searching, we found one that we really like that would our family would need.  It is a 2008 22 ft. Wildcat by Forest River.  Even though it is a 2008 it is not a new this is a used (which saves us a ton of dough) travel trailer.  We are going to pick it up this weekend.  So I will then put some pictures of it up then so that all can see.  I am so excited getting it!!!  It should be awesome.

Man I got to run so I will jump back on later and tell you about Merriann and the baby.  Bye!!

Things are getting back to normal….Kinda Sorta!!

Well, the site is back up and running sorta, I am in the process of adding back all the pictures that got lost.  So it will take a little while for that but Merriann can now post new happenings around the Thames household.  So I hope that everyone enjoys the new site.

Some of the new features are:

A search engine:  So now if you wanted to find a old post (Like Texas for example) all you have to do is enter in Texas in the search window and bang there you go!!

RSS Feed:  What happens here is when we make any updates to the site, you are notified.  And since we are not the greatest at updating our site, this will help you know when we have updated the blog.

Addition of Categories:  So when we add a new post or page on a subject we can put it is a Categories like for example we want to share a new recipe that was awesome that we tried we can put in the Recipe Category.  And then anyone can go to that category and see all the recipes that we have posted about.

There are other upgrades that come with this new site has but it is in the back office part of the site, which makes it easier to manage.  So to all of those of you that check out the site from time to time thanks for your patience with me while I make this site a little bigger, better, faster and more.

Your Bro in Christ,

Greg T

I don’t do a great (ok, even semi good) job at keeping this thing up. But, if after all this time you still check it then I guess I know who my real friends are. :O)

We are getting geared up to head to Texas! Zoë and I will be heading down this week to visit my sister (Hi Sis!) We have not seen each other since I was pregnant with Zoë. She’s going to think I am just always pregnant although it has been a while. Greg has made a point to inform me of the temperature down there almost daily. He’s so thoughtful…Thanks honey!

Here’s a quick picture of Zoë at the Sumas Community Day (who knew). I’ll post more on that later. (I hope…just no one hold their breath. I’d like to have people out there still reading this thing) I even have pictures of our dear Trina competing in the watermelon eating contest!

LinuxFest 2008: AKA Super Nerd Fest….

Leave a comment Standard
Hey Ladies and Gents,
Well Merriann has been on my case for not posting more often and well I really have a good reason for it! Honest! And as soon as I remember what is it I will past it on to you. But really I have been kind of busy. One of the first things other than work, I have been up to in the past few weeks was the biggest and best Open Source Computer Software event in Bellingham, Washington called Linuxfest 2008. What is Open Source for you non-tech people out there, basically it is software made by people whom share it for free and They also share the code they used to make it so that someone else can improve on it. They don’t charge anything for use of the software. And for the most part it is built as well as big software companies like Microsoft software.
Well, some friends (Fred, Jake, Stu, Levi and Andrew) and myself went to check out some of the cool events. I must admit that it is cool for nerds. Who else would willingly go inside a classroom on a beautiful spring day in the Northwest to talk about computers??
See my point!! Just think about it! and the answer is NERDS or GEEKS! Which I must admit I am one of them. But they did have some pretty cool things going on. Like the kids (Jake, Levi, and Stu) went and built Lego robots.

I am sorry to report that the one Jake build had a short life. He built it to be extremely quick, but a little to quick and it quickly flew of the table and popped into hundreds of little Lego pieces. But what’s awesome about legos is that you can always try again.

All in all it was a pretty cool day, we did get out of the class room and had lunch in the sun. We got tons of free stuff from t-shirts, pens, flashlights, software and all kinds of other stuff too. And the most important thing we learned some new things in the process!!

Nice to See Ya, Long Time No Post!!

Hello all,

I just want to say sorry for not posting for a while it’s been kind of busy around here.

But …. We have some Great News (Drum Roll Please!):

Merriann and I are having a baby.. We found out yesterday that Merriann is about 9 weeks pregnant. We are so excited!!! As some of you know that we have been trying to adopt a child for a little while now and this great news don’t really change anything on that front. But it does push back the date a little bit. I just wanted to point out that it is amazing the way that God works in our life. To think just a few weeks ago we where really sad that the adoption through Antioch was not working out. And we didn’t understand why this was happening. But little did we know God had other plans for us. Isn’t he great?

Well, here is a picture of the ultrasound. It is not the greatest but you get the idea!!

Oh it does change the marathon running for Merriann and quite possiblity me too!! Oh well! 🙂

Where have we been!

Well, I haven’t felt much like blogging lately but since Trina keeps posting comments on the same one I figured its time for a new one :O) So, heres some random photos.

Zoe’s first lesson in paintball.

Killing snakes in the back yard.

This photo I love. As she was unloading the dishwasher Zoë decided it would be good to make a cup of coffee for Dad…unfortunately Dad was at work and not able to enjoy the treat. She had added a lot of creamer, coffee and what coffee would be complete without marshmallows! Even looking at this picute a few weeks later she said, “I made some coffee for Dad!”

Thank you TED!

(This picture has nothing to do with the post but it is one of my favorites. Greg took it)

Our friend “TED” reminded me that I should post about the awesome prize I won from Hilary! Hilary recently celebrated her 1 year blogiversary. Congratulation Hilary! To celebrate she had a giveaway on her site and I won! I was very surprised and excited. A big thank you to Trina who encouraged me to post a comment to be entered into the drawing. And a BIG thank you to Hilary for the fun and (some) unusual prizes and to her children who drew my name last. :o)

So, want to know what I got. I won a few of Hilary’s favorite things.

1) Potato Soup at Black Angus
2) Alfredo Dipping Sauce at The Olive Garden
3) Treasury of Memories gift card
4) Starbucks Grande Breve Vanilla Mocha with 1/2 pump mocha and 1/2 pump vanilla, with whip.
5) 409 Glass and Surface. (this one made me laugh but I am excited to try it)
6) Lindt Lindor Truffle Bar.

The food places are obviously gift cards but, in honor of Hilary and her blogiversary I will be ordering the items on her list. You never know…I may discover a new favorite.

Thanks again Hilary! What a fun way to celebrate.

I know it has been over a week since our last post. We are trying to post at least once a week to keep people coming back. But I will fill you in on the comings and going of the past week. Grab your coffee and get comfortable! You may be here a while. :O)

First, we had our first big snow of the season, and with the first big snow is our 5th Annual Cat Snow Toss. I can’t really remember why we started this but every year during the 1st snow we take our sweet, wonderful cat Casey and gently toss her in the snow. You can tell by the look on her face she knows whats coming. Out she goes in the snow always landing on her feet.

Casey didn’t talk to us for the rest of the evening but we though it was funny and now it’s tradition. And I can’t wait until next year!
The 1st weekend in December was our Annual Lemas Family Christmas Tree Hunt. This was my first year to plan the Tree Hunt. We were going to head to Stoney Ridge. Well, I didn’t realize that they weren’t open on Sundays until the family was already on there way up from the Seattle area. Opps! So everyone met at our house. We decided not to do the tree hunt. Partly because of the heavy snow but mainly because I failed my mission for planning the tree hunt 😦 We did have one of the best snowball fights ever. There was plenty of snow, lots of room and a lot of people to hit. We didn’t get our trees but we had a lot of fun and a great time visiting.

The snow only lasted for that day. When we woke up the next morning we had a few more ponds in our yard. Our actual pond was over flowing which half covered our driveway and the garden. In order to get to the shed we had to wade through a “puddle” that was over 12 ft wide and twice as long.

A few days later we headed to our friends Wylin and Hilda’s house for a surprise visit. We only intended to say hi and leave but we ended up staying almost 8 hours. Greg and Wylin were outside working on the cars and doing manly stuff while Hilda and I (and the kids) kept busy inside. 1st we made and decorated Christmas cookies. Zoe had as many sprinkles on her chair and the area around her as she did on the cookies. Hilda’s oldest son, Andrew, was very focused making his candy cane.

2nd we made a large wreath for Hilda’s wall. They had a tree recently fall in there yard and we headed out to clip what we needed. The branches had great pine cones on there. I brought some home to add to my wreath. It was bigger than we anticipated but looks awesome. We also made a couple table top ones.

Greg and Stewart treated us to dinner…homemade pizza. They turned out great and were very filling.

While we were at their house we decide to meet up the next day to get our Christmas tree. We headed to Stoney Ridge (it was Thursday and they were open). They had a live nativity with a camel named Moses. Tiffany (in pink) and Zoe (in blue) had a good time checking out the goats and donkey.

And last but not least…the Gingerbread House. This morning we tackled the gingerbread house. We got a kit from Costco and it was perfect. I piped on the icing and Zoe decorated her heart out. There was so much candy we were running out of room. We made a path and “planted” bushes and still had candy left over.

Phew! That took a while. I hope you enjoyed the long update. :O)

Well, this probably won’t be a very interesting first post but I’m dying to put something up.I’ll write more later. It’s is starting to cool down now and the days (and nights) are again rainy here in the Great Northwest.

We’ve spent the last two days canning produce from our garden. It has been mainly pumpkins, zucchini and the remaining tomatoes.

And yesterday I think I have cut the yard for the last time this year Yeahhhhh!!!! Last night we built our first fall fire in the fire pit.

Oh one last thing everyone in our house is excited about tomorrow birthday. We get together to celebrate Zoe’s 3 birthday (which was today be the way).
