The rest of the story…

Well,  Here is the update on Merriann.  She is still pregnant. Here is the story.  On monday afternoon after work I called Merriann on the way home to see if I need to pick anything up for dinner (as I normally do), then after many, (I mean many rings of the phone) she anwers “Hello”  It was that hello that all guys hate.  She sound bad.  So I as so how are you feeling?  She ssslllooowwwlllyyy tells me that she has been feeling bad, her back hurts, and she was having contractions!!!!!  But mainly back pain.  So I kick into “Husband to the rescue mode”  even through I am about 20 minutes away.  Then all of at once I lost cell phone signal.    Ahhhhhhh!!!!  It is the same place that I always lose a signal on the way home, so I wait the standard 30 seconds to call back (that seems like a lifetime to call her back).  Finially, after getting her back on the phone I ask her the question that I didn’t want to ask, “Are you going to be able to wait until I get there or should I meet you at the hospital??  Thankfully (for me) she was able to wait for me at home.    SO I tell her I am on my way.  15 minutes later I am at home.  I walk in to see Merriann, (I will spare you the details now you can call us later and we will talk about then )  let’s just say that she was hurting.  So I call the Doola (I think that is how you spell it) and she give me some instruction for Merriann. After trying though things it didn’t work.  Merriann asked me to called her back, and like a good man I did.  I asked her to come to our home to help.  Long story short when the Dula (thought that I would try a different spelling) showed up (45 minutes later) Merriann was starting to feel better.  So it is safe to say it was a long 2 1/2 hours.  All is good!  The baby is safe, and Merriann is also good.  Glory to god!!!  But still no new child!

Old Settlers Parade

A couple weekends ago was the Old Settlers Parade.  The parade celebrates the town history.  I thought about sharing that history with you but the would make for a very long post so here is the link to Whatcom Old Settlers Associationin which you can get some more info.

Merriann, Zoe & I hitched a ride on the ConocoPhillips Fire Truck.

Zoe enjoyed waving at people but decided next year she was passing out candy.

One great part was our truck was the 3rd or 4th in line so we were done with plenty of time to head back to main street and watch the rest of the parade. Lets not forget those promised photos of Trina Jazzercising down main street!

(she’s in the black hat)

And her boys Levi and Jake passing out fliers. Thanks for making sure we got one Levi!

Sorry we are experiencing some technical difficulties… 😦  I was just trying to improve our site and look what that got us.  Oh well!!!  I was just trying to add a few new things to our family blog like being able to search the entire site for past post and pages, be able to add and control videos and other content, and addition of a real website part to our site, and a calendar of events. But surprise most of that cool stuff doesn’t work right now. But I am working to restore the site (at least the pictures). So pray for me.

See you later!!

Our daughter The Fly Hunter

Her weapon of choice…

…the ball point pen.

She killed one and wounded another. I found it hopping around on the floor and promptly smashed it with a shoe.
When asked why she was hunting flies she simply said, “They keep bugging me.” Not often the girl of few words but today it was all she needed.

Baby Boy

We found out Friday we are having a baby boy! Zoe got her wish of having a brother (although now she says she wants a baby and a dog). Greg and Zoe went with me for the appointment. Zoe enjoyed seeing the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat. He was sleeping at the time though so we didn’t get the see him moving around.

Our Mud Monster

Isn’t it great when your kids quickly find the closest mud and jump right on in. Here is our own daughter in all her glory. Mud and all!!

Zoe was playing in the muddy mole hills, while our friend Nathan and his trusty tractor helped us till our garden left from this summer. It is good to have dear friends with REAL POWER TOOLS.
